If there is one thing that you need in order to blog consistently, that is motivation. If you are not motivated by your blog, you won’t be able to work on your blog, let alone work productively on your blog. Every blogger has a different source of motivation. Some are purely motivated by their passion and love for blogging, whilst others are motivated by their goals and inspiration.
I think asking yourself why you created your blog in the first place will definitely help you find the motivation you lack as well. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you ways to boost your blogging motivation. Note that these are the things that I do to motivate myself, but please do what works for you. I’m pretty sure you know what works for you, but these are some things you could do if you don’t already do them, which might help you in terms of motivation, so without further ado, let’s jump into the post!
FIND A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
In order to be motivated, you definitely need a source of inspiration. Being inspired will help you find the motivation to work on your blog. Reading (their favorite) blogs inspire some bloggers, whereas others are inspired by looking at their favorite influencers. Personally, for me, I get inspired by checking Pinterest. I’m more of a visual person and I love looking at flat lays, and pictures it definitely helps me get inspired, whether it’s on my blog or photography skills.
THINK ABOUT YOUR GOALS AND PLANS
I know not every blogger has a blogging goal, and you don’t need to have one either. I think it’s more about the way you view your blog and the future that comes along with it. Some bloggers have a blog purely as a hobby; they don’t care about numbers and don’t have any plans to take their blogs to the next level, which is completely OK.
On the other hand, if you are serious about your blog and have plans for your blog, then it’s the perfect time to plan and think about your blogging goals. Thinking about your blogging goals will help you stay or get motivated to a certain extent. Obviously, don’t start focusing only on your goals, which might become unhealthy in the long run. But if you feel like you are starting to lose your motivation, then definitely have a look at your blogging goals, which will help you revive your passion.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH
Last but not least, I think it’s extremely important that you do what you love in order to be motivated. Whether it’s the topics/content you write, the number of times you post, the pictures you take, etc. If you don’t love what you do, it will not only show on your content but might also lead you to take the wrong path such as stealing other bloggers’ ideas & content, comparing yourself with other bloggers, etc.
It’s completely OK to lose your motivation. Nobody is productive or motivated 24/7. We all go through phases where we aren’t motivated to do the simplest tasks. Sometimes you have to prioritize your other responsibilities, which means your blog will naturally take a step back. All those things are completely normal! But when you are truly passionate about something, it will not only make you happy, but it will also make you feel fulfilled.
